Akamonkai Japanese Language School

Description

Akamonkai was established in 1985. To date, they have educated more than 20,000 graduates from over 80 countries. After graduation, our students play an active role around the world, including Japan and their home countries. Currently, around 2,000 students from various countries are enrolled in Akamonkai.

 

As of April 2023, student nationalities were China 30%, Europe and America 19%, Hong Kong 11%, South Korea 11%, Vietnam 10%, Taiwan 10%, and 9% from other countries.

Akamonkai has four school buildings (Main Campus, Nippori Campus and two branch campuses). They are close to Nippori Station, Nishinippori Station and Mikawashima Station. These stations offer convenient access to the city center of Tokyo. It takes just 36 minutes from Nippori Station to Narita International Airport on the Keisei Skyliner express train.

Akamonkai’s classes are carefully organized according to skill level (17 levels), allowing students to study at classes suitable for their Japanese level and learning speed. Proper mastery of the fundamentals is crucial to move on to subsequent learning phases smoothly. As there are many students with different mother tongues and varying degrees of Japanese language proficiency when they first enroll, having classes that cover a range of teaching speeds allows students from a wide variety of backgrounds to efficiently learn Japanese at the pace that best suits them.

For intermediate level students and above, curriculums and classes are organized according to the students’ goals (higher education, employment, etc.). They help students comprehensively expand their proficiency in Japanese, with a proper balance of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Description

The College of Business and Communication (CBC,) located just outside of Tokyo in Kawasaki holds the distinction of being a part of history as the only school in Kanagawa to join the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education as a member school during the association’s early days in May of 1989. This school has sent many of its graduates to colleges, universities and graduate schools throughout Japan, and also into the global business world as well. The success of graduates over the years has helped CBC demonstrate a long tradition of experience in Japanese language education.

Courses

Japanese short-term courses are open to new students in January, April, July and October. Each course is about 3 months. Students who can stay in Japan with a 90 day Temporary Visitor Visa or a Working Holiday Visa can also take the 3-month course. Of course, residents with other longer-term visas can also enroll in the part-time course. Depending on the time a student chooses to enroll, they may also have the chance to participate in activities such as field trips, sports events and traditional Japanese festivals.

Curriculum

KAI Japanese Language School offers both comprehensive Japanese language courses for long-term students and conversation-based Japanese language courses for short-term students year-round. KAI summer Japanese language courses include Grammar & Conversation, JLPT Preparation, and a Teen Program to give younger students (aged 13-17) an immersive Japanese language learning experience in Tokyo. Private Japanese language lessons are also available for both individuals and corporate clients. For those who are unable to come to Japan, KAI Japanese Language School offers an “Online Study Abroad” option, which allows you to take the general course online (by Zoom) from abroad. In addition to learning Japanese intensively from your home, you will also study in the same class as other students living in Japan, so you can simulate studying in Japan. Courses

The Practical Conversation Course is a conversation-based course which focuses on improving learner’s Japanese conversation skills in a fun, flexible and efficient manner and is also available for short-term students. Students have the option to choose materials in either hiragana (Japanese) or roman alphabet, so they can quickly begin using Japanese in conversation. Summer courses are held in August every year, offering Japanese language lessons mixed with traditional and modern activities around the Tokyo metropolitan area. Courses

The short-term course is the best to acquire Japanese for daily life and work. The population of foreigners in Minato Ward is considerably higher, compared to other areas of Tokyo. UJS has taught Japanese to foreigners who live around the Roppongi and Azabu areas since 1986. Most short-term students tend to take the course for a year to pass JLPT tests. Most of them are able to pass JLPT N2 or N3 in a year. That is why many students are very satisfied. Students of the short-term course study with other international students intent on going to university. These courses have a much more diverse student body. Students may find their common language is Japanese in facilitating language development. Classes are divided by level into small groups of five to 15.
