Diners Club French Restaurant Week, a gourmet event born in France, is being held for the 15th consecutive year this year. During the event, anyone can enjoy course meals at special event prices at over 500 participating French restaurants across the country, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
This year’s event will run for 31 days from Saturday, September 20th to Monday, October 20th. This is a great opportunity to casually enjoy French cuisine from restaurants that have been awarded stars in famous restaurant guides and chefs who are popular in the media, so don’t miss out!
This year, under the theme “Supporting Japanese food culture! Très Bon Japanese Terroir,” many chefs who want to “introduce the deliciousness of local ingredients” and “support producers” will be incorporating Japanese ingredients into French cuisine. Please enjoy a dish filled with the charm of domestic ingredients.
A food-filled journey through France Enjoy local cuisine
This year’s course theme is “A food-filled journey through France.”
You can enjoy a special course meal that features each restaurant’s specialty, “French regional cuisine,” arranged using local ingredients and the chef’s techniques.
France boasts a wide variety of traditional cuisine. For example, you can enjoy the signature dishes of different regions all at once by combining a Nicoise salad as an appetizer, a cassoulet from the Languedoc region as a main course, and a kouglof from Alsace as a dessert.
Enjoy a variety of delicious regional dishes at participating restaurants, just like on a gourmet journey around France!
