New look for a classic favorite in the heart of Tokyo

Marking 30 years of luxury accommodation in the capital of Japan, the comprehensive renovations at The Westin Tokyo wrapped up in 2023, breathing new life into this venerable Tokyo icon.

With new looks across several areas, including The Lounge and international restaurant The Terrace. Inspired by an orangery, The Lounge is more light-filled and open and more integrated with the lush garden outside its windows. The Terrace, meanwhile, blends perfectly with the lobby and lounge, creating a space with greenery as the centerpiece.

History

Opened in 1994, The Westin Tokyo is in the quiet neighborhood of Meguro, pleasantly distant from the frenetic pace of the Shibuya and Roppongi districts, yet still close enough to enjoy the vibrancy of those areas. The hotel serves as an oasis in the city and an anchor to the nearby Yebisu Garden Place, a complex — once home to the Yebisu Brewery — that is filled with a variety of shops, restaurants, offices and cultural facilities.

As Tokyo came into its own as an international destination for visitors from across the globe, The Westin Tokyo was among the first Western luxury hotels to welcome guests to the city, doing so with understated grace and an undeniable elegance.

Accommodations

The renovations saw the number of rooms in the hotel increase to 445, each featuring The Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed. These beds, first introduced in 1999, have ensured that guests enjoy a deep, restful sleep to energize and refresh after a long journey, busy corporate schedule or sightseeing excursions. All of the hotel’s guest rooms, including their Deluxe, Executive, Presidential and Imperial Suites, have been through an extensive reimagining. The rooms incorporate European elements influenced by the natural green space surrounding the hotel.

The rooms themselves offer something for everyone with high-speed Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speakers, minibars and exquisite bathrooms. Deluxe rooms offer single king beds or two doubles in 42 square meters of space. Premium rooms offer the same bed options, but are available on higher floors, providing guests with more expansive views of the city and surrounding environs.

Executive rooms featuring the same bed options are also located on higher floors, but include Westin Club access along with complimentary continental breakfast, cocktails and nonalcoholic beverages. Deluxe suites are substantially larger at 84 square meters, have both double and king bed options, boast spectacular views along with the complimentary services of the Executive rooms.

Executive suites are located on high floors and boast a king bed in a one-bedroom suite, measuring 126 square meters. In addition to the all of the benefits of the smaller suites, these rooms offer the same amenities and perks as the smaller suites, as well as an oversized bath and stunning city views.

Rounding out the lineup are the sumptuous 210-square-meter Presidential and Imperial suites that, in addition to the benefits of the other suites, also offer whirlpool baths, saunas and views of the iconic Tokyo Tower. Both offer a specially designed room between the living room and bedroom that serves as a “retreat room” where guests can enjoy a quiet space of relaxation and reflection.

The hotel also has an on-site spa and fitness facilities, as well as in-room massage services.

Dining and drinking

The Westin Tokyo is proud to support health-conscious lifestyles with restaurants that boast their “Eat Well” menus that feature a variety of nutritious dishes carefully created with the well-being of guests at the forefront of their minds.
