Japan’s largest restaurant event “Diners Club France Restaurant Week 2022” which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, will kick off the event from September 23rd (Friday/Holiday) to October 16th (Sunday). Although French cuisine may have a reputation for being on the higher end, price wise, of fine dining, this is a very popular event where everyone, not just Diners Club members, are welcome to enjoy French cuisine at a very reasonable price (from 2,500 yen depending on the restaurant). Each year, this event is loved by people from all walks of life including foodies, wine lovers and families. Reservations are available from the official website from the 30th of August (Tuesday) and they fill fast so be sure to get in early!
This year, under the theme of “Supporting Japanese food culture! Tre Bon Japanese Terroir” all participating restaurants will be offering a special French course incorporated with Japanese ingredients such as wasabi, taro and wild vegetables. Enjoy a gastronomic experience that is sure to leave a lasting memory through this new fusion of French cuisine with Japanese ingredients.
This year introduces a new area to this event, the South of France. The southern area of France, such as Provence and Cote d’Azur are famous for its beautiful beaches, bright sunshine, nostalgic areas and is a very popular tourist destination. Typical dishes from this area include stuffed vegetables “falci” and “bouillabaisse”. These dishes are of course available during this event (either 2,500 JPY, 5,000 JPY or 8,000 JPY) Feel free to take full advantage of this opportunity to enjoy southern French dishes crafted by our chefs.

During a press conference held at Conrad Tokyo on Tuesday the 23rd of August, seven chefs took the stage to introduce themselves and the event to the media. Influencers Klara Blan and Florent Dabadie were appointed as event ambassadors. Special guest, Yoshito Okubo, also made an appearance to talk about French cuisine.
