EDOGAWA INTERNATIONAL JAPANESE SCHOOL

Description

Shinozaki-cho, Edogawa-ku, where the school is located, is an area where Tokyo’s traditional culture, beauty and technology coexist. Prices are low and there are many green spaces nearby. We offer a place where you can study Japanese in a calm environment, still able to feel nature even while being in the heart of the city. We are in a very convenient location with easy access to Akihabara and Shinjuku by train. The educational policies of our school are as follows:

  1. Cultivation of a free and creative international community of students who are familiar with the world.
  2. Cultivation of human resources to contribute to the understanding and development of Japanese culture.

Features

Although we have only recently opened in 2018, our principal has over 35 years of experience in Japanese language education and will provide guidance so that Japanese can be learned more effectively by our students. In terms of our school’s culture, staff with more than 30 years of experience will be more than happy to help however they can.  Our school is a five-minute walk from Shinozaki Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, and students can purchase a commuter pass if they use the Toei Shinjuku Line or Toei Bus. Our school offers a commuter pass at about 55 percent of the regular commuter pass price. Many Japanese schools cannot use a commuter pass, so this is just another great reason to join us here. We look forward to having you!

Curriculum

Our school was established to develop truly global-minded people. We welcome students from all over the world, set a goal of comprehensive understanding of different cultures, and operate our program with that purpose. In our program, you will learn the basic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking separately. We strive to develop one’s communication ability through group work and research learning. Therefore, we provide many opportunities for exchanges, such as experiences of Japanese culture, tours and listening to people in the fields of the real world.

Courses

There are one-month (four-week), three-month (12-week) and six-month (24-week) courses. Basic cultural experience classes (flower arrangement, tea ceremony, etiquette courses and more) are included.

Hotsuma International Tokyo School

Description

Our school not only improves students’ Japanese language skills, but also communication skills through group activities in the class. Additionally, our school distributes a laptop (chromebook) to every student for free and uses them to provide students ICT education to learn presentation skills and Japanese keyboard input for their future after graduation. We have students  from various nations, so we set a learning environment where they study Japanese in Japanese with students who originally speak different languages. We also help them learn the Japanese manners for ease in adapting to the Japanese lifestyle.

Features

Our group has four Japanese language schools across Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Gifu). We are cooperating with our other schools to share information about lessons and schools to advance our practices. Each school works to modify the lessons and we combine the best of each, allowing us to not be too much like a “typical Japanese class.”

Curriculum

Ordinary students who doesn’t have N3 or more study basic level classes with “みんなの日本語 (Minna no Nihongo)” for a year, even if you had already learned before. this is for getting used to the Japanese class by Japanese teachers and acquiring certain basic Japanese language skills for their future life in Japan. After basic level classes, we offer classes divided by Japanese language needs like reading, kanji, writing, speaking and listening to advance to the school you want to attend.

Courses

In our classes, three to four students get together and do various activities. Therefore students can get more opportunities to listen and speak in Japanese than general Japanese lessons with textbooks. This creates opportunities to talk with classmates out of class and steadily improve Japanese communication. This cycle provides you with an exciting experience. We can arrange sightseeing or activities as school events for your short-term stay with Hotsuma. Please let us know what you would like to do with us.

TOYO LANGUAGE SCHOOL

Description

Toyo Language School is a school that teaches students with our original education system called “JCT education system.”  It consists of three steps; JJM (Monitoring), Counseling and Target-setting.  By taking our JJ monitoring (test), students can check their Japanese ability, and by analysis of their results with homeroom teachers, they can set new targets every three months.  We are not simply teaching Japanese, but as TLS has the goal to educate humanity, we consider the activities very important because play integrates learning.  At TLS, students will meet Japan from many different angles and to learn Japanese at different places.  They will then be stimulated, made aware and grow.  Enjoy the wonderful life of overseas study that will be the key to Japanese improvement.

Features

To follow the JCT education system, we provide a counselling sheet as an analysis tool for all students each term.  Counseling sheets enable students to know their strengths and weaknesses in detail. For students who know their own weak points and want to overcome them, elective classes in a relevant field are recommended. Classes are organized from beginner to intermediate level to assist students in their weak areas, such as grammar, the use of particles or kanji characters, and students can see how their progress. We believe that Japanese study is not only to remember vocabulary and grammar. In order to learn Japanese well, the experience about trying to tell or let someone understand are good ways.  Students in intermediate levels are looking for themes to make posters and learn how to communicate in Japanese through team projects.  At the end of the project, they will have an opportunity to present to Japanese guests.

Curriculum

In addition to basic proficiency in grammar and vocabulary, the TLS curriculum is intended to make use of prior learning by engaging regularly in tasks that combine at least two of the four skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading. Through the TLS teaching method, students improve their practical Japanese language abilities, progressing from the more basic “I understand” to the more advanced “I can use it.” We have four levels for basic Japanese classes; Let’s start, Take a step forward, Make human relationships and Send information. Each class takes at least three months to be complete and it helps students to see their goals clearly. Once students can comprehend basic Japanese, they move forward to advanced levels and try to get high scores at EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students) and pass high JLPT levels  to enter higher education institutions.

Courses

Short-term study with an eye to future studying in Japan, brush up before Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), improvement of communication skills and Japanese culture experience, there are so many things to learn even in a period of three months.  We perform counseling to each student, even short-term international students, and we really hope you make use of this valuable opportunity of studying in Japan. It should be noted that a student visa is not needed for stays of less than three months. You are allowed to stay in Japan as a temporary visitor. (Depending on whether the country or region has visa exemption measures) Also, we are providing on-line classes in order to adapt to a new lifestyle. If you would like to have some information to consider studying in Japan in the future or to experience Japanese language classes even if you are not in Japan. You can take a free trial lesson. We offer support for various purposes and goals that are closely engaged with school classes.
